Terms & Conditions 

Welcome to Paws & Smiles! By using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Please review them carefully.

📌 1. Service Agreement

  • Paws & Smiles provides dog walking, cat sitting, and house sitting in Toronto & Etobicoke.

  • Services are customized based on your pet’s needs discussed during the Meet & Greet.

📌 2. Client Responsibilities

  • Ensure your pet is up-to-date on vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and is in good health.

  • Provide necessary supplies, including but not limited to leashes, food, toys, and medications.

  • Complete the required client intake form before services begin. Services will not be provided if this form is not completed.

  • Notify us of any changes to your contact information or your pet’s care needs.

📌 3. Booking and Payments

  • Bookings can be made via email or our online form after the meet and greet has been completed.

  • Clients must fill out the client intake form as part of the booking process.

  • Payments are made online after an invoice is sent. To pay, click "View Invoice" in the email and proceed to "Pay Invoice" to complete the transaction.

  • If an invoice is overdue by 7 days, the following actions will be taken:

    1. A reminder email will be sent, and services will be paused until payment is received.

    2. If the invoice remains unpaid after 14 days, a late fee of $25 will be added to the total.

    3. If the invoice is still unpaid after 30 days, the matter may be escalated to a collection agency or small claims court, and the client will be responsible for any additional fees incurred during this process.

    4. Future bookings will not be accepted from clients with outstanding balances.

📌 4. Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • Paws and Smiles has a strict no-refund policy.

  • In the rare event that Paws and Smiles must cancel, other team members will attempt to cover the service. If coverage is not possible, clients will receive a credit toward future services.

📌 5. Safety and Liability

  • Owners must be fully honest during the meet and greet regarding their pet’s behavior. Any undisclosed aggressive or dangerous behavior will result in immediate termination of services. Payment for services provided up to that point will still be required, and no refund or credit will be issued for remaining services.

  • Paws and Smiles prioritizes the safety and well-being of its team. While we love all fur babies, our team must feel comfortable and safe during visits. Services will not be provided for pets deemed unsafe or aggressive.

  • Paws and Smiles is not liable for injuries or illnesses resulting from pre-existing conditions, health issues, or negligence by the pet owner.

  • Paws and Smiles is not liable for any incidents, injuries, or illnesses that occur to pets or property when we are not present. This includes but is not limited to accidents, health issues, or behavioral problems.

📌 6. Pet Behavior

  • Aggressive or dangerous behavior must be disclosed prior to booking. If dishonesty is discovered regarding a pet’s behavior, services will be terminated immediately, and future bookings will not be accepted.

📌 7. Photography and Social Media

  • Paws and Smiles may take photos of pets for use on social media or marketing materials. No personal information will be shared.

  • Clients who do not wish for their pets to be featured can opt out by notifying us in writing.

📌 8. Emergency Care

  • Clients must provide emergency contact information and designate a preferred veterinarian on the client intake form.

  • In the event of an emergency, Paws and Smiles will make every effort to contact the client immediately. If the client cannot be reached, we will contact the provided emergency contact or seek veterinary care at the designated clinic or nearest available facility.

  • Any costs incurred during an emergency will be the responsibility of the pet owner.

📌 9. Confidentiality and Privacy

  • Paws and Smiles respects your privacy and will not share your personal information or pet details with third parties without your consent, except in emergencies.

  • Client information is securely stored and used solely for providing services.

📌 10. Key Handling

  • Clients must provide access to their home via a physical key, lockbox code, or other secure method for house sitting, cat sitting, or pet care services.

  • Keys will be labeled discreetly and stored securely by Paws and Smiles to ensure client privacy and safety.

  • If a key or access method is lost or malfunctions due to circumstances beyond our control, Paws and Smiles is not liable for any resulting delays or complications. Clients are responsible for providing an alternative access method promptly.

📌 11. Weather Policy

  • In cases of extreme weather (e.g., heatwaves, storms, heavy snow), Paws and Smiles reserves the right to adjust, shorten, or reschedule services to ensure the safety of both pets and staff. Clients will be notified of any changes.

📌 12. Damage Liability

  • Paws and Smiles is not responsible for damages caused by pets to the client’s property or to third parties during services. The client assumes full responsibility for their pet’s actions.

📌 13. Termination of Services

  • Paws and Smiles reserves the right to terminate services immediately if a pet is found to be aggressive, unsafe, or if the client fails to comply with these terms and conditions.

  • Clients may not terminate services without prior written notice and mutual agreement. Refunds or credits for unused services are not provided, except in cases where Paws and Smiles has initiated the cancellation of services without being able to arrange alternative coverage.

📌 14. Force Majeure

  • Paws and Smiles is not liable for failure to provide services due to circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, severe weather, or emergencies. Services will resume as soon as reasonably possible.

📌 15. Amendments to Terms

  • Paws and Smiles reserves the right to update these terms and conditions at any time. Clients will be notified of significant changes.
