TERMS & CONDITIONS

By booking or using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please review them carefully.

1. Service Provided 

Paws & Smiles offers dog walking, cat sitting, and house sitting services in Etobicoke and select areas of Toronto.

Services are customized based on your pet’s needs and routines as discussed during the required Meet & Greet.

2. Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

• Ensure pets are up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and are in good general health
• Provide all necessary supplies, including food, leashes, medications, and care instructions
• Complete the required client intake form prior to the start of services
• Notify Paws & Smiles of any changes to contact information, pet health, or care routines

Services will not begin until all required forms are completed.

3. Booking & Payments

Bookings may be requested via email or the website after a Meet & Greet has been completed.

Invoices are sent electronically and must be paid online by the due date listed.

If an invoice remains unpaid:

• After 7 days — a payment reminder will be sent and services may be paused
• After 14 days — a late fee of $25 may be added
• After 30 days — the balance may be referred to collections or small claims court, and any associated costs will be the responsibility of the client

Future bookings will not be accepted while an account has an outstanding balance.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

All services are non-refundable.

In the rare event that Paws & Smiles must cancel a service, alternate coverage will be attempted where possible. If coverage cannot be arranged, a credit will be issued for future services.

5. Safety & Liability

Client honesty during the Meet & Greet is essential. Any undisclosed aggressive, unsafe, or dangerous behavior may result in immediate termination of services. Payment for services already provided will still be required.

Paws & Smiles reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services if a pet is deemed unsafe or if staff safety is compromised.

Paws & Smiles is not liable for injuries, illness, or incidents resulting from pre-existing conditions, owner negligence, or events occurring while we are not present in the home.

6. Pet Behavior

Aggressive or unsafe behavior must be disclosed prior to booking. Discovery of undisclosed behavioral issues may result in immediate termination of services without refund or credit. and future bookings will not be accepted.

7. Photography & Media Use

Paws & Smiles may take photos of pets for marketing or social media purposes. No personal client information will be shared.

Clients may opt out of photo usage at any time by notifying us in writing.

8. Emergency Care

Clients must provide emergency contact information and a preferred veterinary clinic.

In the event of an emergency, reasonable efforts will be made to contact the client. If unreachable, care will be sought through the designated veterinarian or the nearest available clinic.

All emergency-related costs are the responsibility of the pet owner.

9. Privacy & Confidentiality

Client information is kept confidential and used solely for service-related purposes, except in cases of emergency or as required by law.

10. Key & Home Access

Clients are responsible for providing secure access to their home (key, lockbox, or code).

Keys are labeled discreetly and stored securely. Paws & Smiles is not responsible for delays or issues caused by lost keys, malfunctioning access systems, or circumstances beyond our control.

11. Weather Policy

In cases of extreme weather, services may be adjusted, shortened, or rescheduled to ensure safety. Clients will be notified of any changes.

12. Property & Damage

Clients are responsible for any damage caused by their pets to property or third parties during services.

13. Termination of Services

Paws & Smiles reserves the right to terminate services at any time if terms are not followed, safety is compromised, or care conditions change.

Clients may not terminate ongoing services without prior written notice. Refunds or credits are not provided for unused services unless initiated by Paws & Smiles.

14. Force Majeure

Paws & Smiles is not liable for service interruptions due to events beyond our control, including natural disasters, emergencies, or severe weather.

15. Changes to These Terms

Paws & Smiles reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Clients will be notified of significant changes.
